Liquid Cooling Plate Technology and Data Centers

With AI entering a period of rapid growth, according to IDC statistics, China's intelligent computing power is projected to have a compound annual growth rate of 52.3% from 2021 to 2026. Along with this growth comes an increase in single-machine power density and energy consumption in data centers. Therefore, traditional air cooling methods are no longer sufficient to meet the growing demands, and the importance of liquid cooling technology is becoming increasingly prominent. According to the "China Liquid Cooling Data Center Development White Paper," it is estimated that by 2025, the market size of liquid cooling data centers in China will exceed 120 billion yuan, and based on the contact method, they can be classified into three types: liquid cold plate, immersion, and spray. Among them, liquid cooling plate is a more mature liquid cooling technology.

Liquid cooling plates are based on traditional cooling methods but greatly enhance the cooling efficiency by directly introducing coolant into the heat-sensitive components of servers. Furthermore, liquid cooling plate technology allows for better control of heat dissipation, enabling servers to be densely packed, thereby increasing the computational density of data centers. Additionally, liquid cooling plate technology offers improved reliability and stability.

As a result, liquid cooling plates are gradually being adopted and utilized by the data center industry as an effective cooling solution. With advancing technology and decreasing costs, they are becoming the preferred choice for major manufacturers.
